A new portable breath test machine has been introduced for use in DUI cases.  The Alcosensor5 or ASV is the latest in point of use breath testing devices utilized in DUI arrests by law enforcement.  According to one Torrance DUI Attorney these machines will likely be released into the South Bay DUI Task Force teams very soon.  The devices have already been put into use in Ventura County.  These new PAS machines are different from the Alco sensor 4 units inasmuch as they have printer capability and are microprocessor driven, but give it time, we will soon see the technology and all its failures when challenged in DUI criminal cases, stay tuned!
