Manhattan Beach and El Segundo to Collaborate on DUI Enforcement

Their geographic proximity makes it almost a necessity, but the two cities have announced an increased focus on the detection and interdiction of driving under the influence offenders that traverse their collective municipalities.  Presumably, we will see a greater presence of patrol officers assigned exclusively to drunk driving enforcement duties says one Manhattan Beach DUI Attorney , with it will likely also come  more sobriety checkpoints.  In recent years there has been an influx of resources allocated to apprehending impaired drivers statewide.  These additional funds will likely be injected into the community by the respective departments. 

With regard to DUI arrests, the cities each have seen a marked increase in bookings for VC23152 violations, much of the fine money and booking fees are redistributed back to the police agencies in the form of grant money and outright funds.  According to one local El Segundo DUI Attorney the government takes in close to millions of dollars a week in fines alone.  The average DUI fine is upwards of $1900 and rising.  The announcement of increased collaboration among departments will certainly result in heavier caseloads for the Courts in months ahead.
