Thank you for retaining my firm to represent you in your DUI case. I am writing to outline the immediate next steps and clarify our process moving forward.
Upon receiving your completed retainer form and the required fee, we will take the following actions:
- DMV Representation: We will prepare and transmit a formal letter of representation to the DMV and request a hearing on your behalf.
- Discovery Request: We will request all relevant discovery for your case, which may include police reports, DMV forms, and chemical test results.
- License Protection (Stay of Suspension):Along with the hearing request, we will ask the DMV to stop the suspension against your license (a “stay of suspension”) and request they mail you a replacement temporary license to replace the pink paper you currently hold.
- Court Date Management: We will calendar your upcoming court date and contact the prosecutor’s office to begin a dialogue about your case.
